Disney’s COVID Restrictions

When we visited Disney World in October of 2021, the rules had just changed…again. Disney’s COVID restrictions have stayed the same from then up until now. I want to make sure that you know what those restrictions are, as of today, before you head out to the parks. Because they just changed! Again! But for the better.

Health Advisory

Disney places this Health Advisory on their booking pages. They want to make sure that everyone is aware, that they are making a choice to visit the parks. Disney’s COVID restrictions include the Covid-19 Warning on their site which describes that you are taking an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in visiting any public place. This includes the parks. Keep that in mind as you travel. Not just the parks but also any other travel opportunities you may have moving forward.

Entry Requirements

As of the day this article is posted, Disney’s COVID restrictions are very few. There are NO vaccination or testing requirements to enter the parks at Walt Disney World. You do not need to have proof of vaccination with you. You also do not need proof of antibodies or a PCR test on you while visiting. What you do need the day of your trip are park reservations, and park tickets. If you’re getting ready to grab some park tickets, stick around until the end.

Face Coverings

Disney’s COVID restrictions have just been updated! See the verbatim below:

“Face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations. We expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters. Face coverings are still required by all Guests (ages 2 and up) on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.”

Walt Disney World

They want coverings to have 2 layers, cover your nose and mouth while being worn, fit to the face, and be hands free. Typical guidelines, and nothing surprising there. Coverings are required for any indoor attractions, rides, queues, etc.. Be sure to have it with you on your way into the park just in case. These types of restrictions can change at any moment. This post looked very different when I first wrote it two weeks ago.

Face Coverings NOT approved include:

  • Neck gaiters
  • open-chin
  • triangle bandanas
  • Face coverings made of mesh material, with holes, or any kind of valves

Face coverings are NOT permitted in the water or on water slides in those parks.
