Banned to US Passport Holders

The European Union as a whole has banned US travelers since March 17th. They then extended their ban on 7/16/2020 for 2 weeks. Moving forward, they’ll then reevaluate every 2 weeks. The EU consists of 27 countries. Those countries include:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Bulgaria
  • Croatia
  • Republic of Cyprus
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Estonia
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Luxembourg
  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • Poland
  • Portugal

Closer to home, our border neighbors, Canada and Mexico, are in agreements with the United States. These agreements are to restrict non-essential travel until August 21st with few exceptions. These ban extensions are not surprising. They’ve been extended multiple times to include the current restrictions. Forbes mentioned all of the above and the other countries banning US travelers including China, Japan, New Zealand, and most recently, the Bahamas.  That makes a total of 33 countries where US passport holders are not allowed entry for the time being.

Open to US Passport Holders

There are other countries however that are accepting American tourists, but with restrictions including the following:

  • Antigua and Barbuda,
  • Aruba

  1. I love this post! I have been so curious about the way travel has changed lately! Thanks so much for sharing! We had to cancel all travel plans this summer and have been doing a lot of road trips!!

    1. It’s changed so much! I’m with you on that. We were in Amsterdam when things started closing down. That post will be coming down the line shortly <3 Road trips is a great idea! We went camping! Where did you go roadtripping?

  3. It’s so difficult to know where to travel with everything going on. At least US citizens have some options for destinations to visit. It’s quite similar here in the UK, but things are starting to relax a little more now

    1. It really is! Now that the UK isn’t a part of the EU, do you know what countries you’re able to visit now if you wished?
